Key Achievements in FY 2025 and Planned Projects for FY 2026

Since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, the Saudi economy has undergone a major structural transformation driven by continuous government efforts. These initiatives have led to the successful completion of strategic projects and the planning of new developments across key infrastructure sectors.

Below is an overview of the major achievements in FY 2025 and the key projects planned for FY 2026.

1. Digital Economy, Space, and Innovation

Key Achievements in FY 2025

  • The telecommunications and technology market reached SAR 190 billion, recording growth of more than 5%.
  • Saudi Arabia maintained first place in E-Government and Mobile Services Maturity according to ESCWA.
  • The Kingdom ranked first globally in the ITU Telecommunication and Technology Development Index.
  • The number of unicorn startups reached eight, with two new unicorns added in 2025.
  • More than 13 deep-tech innovations were developed, supporting national priorities in energy, health, and future economies.

Key Projects Planned for FY 2026

  • The telecom and technology market is expected to reach SAR 199 billion by FY 2026.
  • Two additional unicorn startups are projected to be added by the end of FY 2026.

2. Data and Artificial Intelligence

Key Achievements in FY 2025

  • The Tawakkalna platform was expanded with the launch of 136 new e-services in 2025, bringing the total to 711 services and expanding partnerships to 323 entities.
  • Saudi Arabia ranked first globally in empowering women in the AI sector and third globally in AI job growth.
  • AlUla joined the IMD Smart Cities Index, while Al-Khobar advanced 38 places, Makkah advanced 13 places, and Madinah and Jeddah each advanced 7 places.
  • The National Single Sign-On Platform was expanded through integration with over 945 platforms, supporting 1,050 applications and serving more than 27 million users.
  • Nafath services expanded to deliver 11 million services, reaching more than 33 million users.

Key Projects Planned for FY 2026

  • Improve Saudi Arabia’s position in global data and AI rankings, with the long-term goal of being among the top 17 countries worldwide by 2030.
  • Enhance the Tawakkalna application by increasing the number of services to 926 by the end of FY 2026.
  • Strengthen capacity building in data and AI by targeting 20,000 experts by 2030, with 70% of this target achieved by 2026

3. Transportation and Logistics

Key Achievements in FY 2025

  • More than 49,000 Saudis joined the transportation and logistics sector, with 65.2% growth in high-skilled jobs and a 21% increase in women in leadership roles.
  • The air transport sector recorded strong growth, including a 15% increase in passengers, 11% increase in flights, and 34% growth in air cargo. The national fleet expanded to 457 aircraft, and a new national carrier was awarded in Dammam.
  • Local content was strengthened, with the Roads Authority reaching 52.6% and GACA achieving 51%.
  • Logistics infrastructure expanded with the activation of the Sakaka Logistics Center, increasing the total number of active centers to 24 across the Kingdom.

Key Projects Planned for FY 2026

  • Launch Phase 2 of the National Road Safety Program to reduce fatalities through safer intersections, improved barriers, and treatment of high-risk sites.
  • Expand the logistics network by establishing new sorting centers in Hail, Makkah, and Asir, along with upgrades to distribution points and retail branches.
  • Activate the Al-Qunfudhah and Yanbu Logistics Centers, increasing the total number of active centers to 26 and expanding operational logistics infrastructure to 600,000 square meters.
