10 Principles for the next 50 Years of UAE.

President’s decree for the UAE’s future!

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE president has recently issued a decree on the adoption of the country’s 10 principles for the next 50 years for strengthening the union and building a sustainable economy. The decree requires all ministries, federal and local government authorities, and institutions in the country to use these principles as guidance in all their directives and decision and adhere to them. 

The 10 principles that will be the core guidelines for all UAE’s institutions are as follows:

The 1st Principle: Strengthen the union, its institutions, legislature, capabilities, and finances by the development of the urban and rural economies throughout the nation. This will be the key national focus.

The 2nd Principle: Build the best and most dynamic economy in the world. It will be the responsibility of all state institutions in all fields and across different federal and local levels to build the best global economic environment by maintaining the gains achieved over the past 50 years.

The 3rd Principle: Serve the economy by providing a better life for the people of the union.

The 4th Principle: Ensure the UAE endures to be the most competitive national economy by developing the educational system, recruiting talent, and continuously building skills while retaining the existing specialists. The main future driver for growth is human capital.

The 5th Principle: One of the crucial priorities of the country’s foreign policy is to develop a stable and positive political, economic, and social relationship with its neighbors. This will be established as it will be the first line of defense for the country’s safety. 

The 6th Principle: Unifying efforts of national institutions to benefit mutually from their shared capabilities as UAE is a hub for tourism, investment, business, cultural excellence, and industry. Through synergy, working towards building global enterprises under the umbrella of the UAE would be much easier. 

The 7th Principle: Define development and economic frontiers through digital, technical, and scientific excellence and working towards being the global leader.

The 8th Principle: Remain supportive of all initiatives, pledges, and international organizations that promote peace, openness, and humanity to preserve human dignity, respect for cultural diversity, and strengthen human fraternity while holding on to the UAE national identity. 

The 9th Principle: Continue to pursue foreign humanitarian aids ignoring all factors such as religion, color, culture, or any political disagreement prevailing with any country during the time of disasters, emergencies, and crises. 

The 10th Principle: Strive with regional partners and global friends to establish regional as well as global peace and stability to maintain harmony. 

The four pillars of the UAE Centennial Plan 2071 launched by H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai earlier this year namely, future-focused government, excellent education, a diversified knowledge economy, and a happy and cohesive society will be established by the project. These will initiate the blooming of a comprehensive development plan for the next five decades beyond 2021 for investing in the future generations to face rapid changes and to make the UAE the best country in the world by the next centennial 2071.
